What's dope about hemp...

We are thrilled to have hemp laying its roots at Opus Fresh Apparel Co. Hemp is the perfect addition to our woollen adventure and outdoor wear collection, with many of the same qualities that make it great for an active lifestyle. It is breathable and insulating, durable, soft, and moisture-wicking, and it also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Keeping you looking and feeling fresh! 

...And no, it does not get you high. Hemp belongs to the Cannabis family but it contains less than 0.3% Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC (the psychoactive component). Comparing hemp and weed is like comparing a Chihuahua to a Bull Mastiff. They are of the same species but there are substantial differences. The main difference is a legal one, so let’s make use of this wonder plant in the best way possible and for the health of our planet.

The Shorts are cut to just the right length and the adjustable elasticated waistband will give you the perfect width.

This epic collaboration with the team at Manawatu Knitting Mills strikes again, this time to bring as an addition to the knitwear range - The Crossover Cardigan. Similar to its predecessor The Longline Cardigan, this epic little overachiever covers all the bases and gives you all the luxury of the longline with the added bonus of being able to be buttoned up, plus its casual yet classy cut means it can cross over from a cosy weekend at home to an executive meeting without batting an eyelid.

Crafted from a blend of Possum Fur, Silk and New Zealand Merino Wool, detailed with the signature Opus Fresh organic leather patch.

Tech Specs:

  • Made from a 70% Merino, 20% Possum, 10% Silk blend.
  • Multi functional garments allow you to pack less when you are on the move.
  • The unique blend of possum fur and merino lamb’s wool creates a piling retardant fibre. Possum fur is low-pill and anti-static which means the garment can be worn throughout the years and still look as new as the day it was purchased.
  • Possum fibre will not freeze, even when exposed to periods of prolonged cold. The only fibre on the planet known to have the same characteristic is Polar Bear fur.
  • Signature 'Mountain Geometric' Leather patch.
  • Natural wooden buttons.
  • The brushtail possum was introduced to New Zealand in the 1850s and is now wreaking havoc on our natural wildlife and native forest. The need to control the number of possums to protect our native flora and fauna saw the development of this NZ exclusive, specialised natural fibre.
